| Dave mentioned a few months back when reading some of his excellent poetry what happened to Steve's poem
I found it today - Tattered, hand written at the time and just in case i ever lose it again thought i would re share it with you guys,.
feeling a little sad as its made me think about Steve a lot today i still miss him.
I have asked his friend to help me find the words to tell of Steve Through the tears and silent hurt shared stories I received
It seems his fun and humor will by most be missed Or running over hill and field, sword in hand and shield in fist
For some figures to battle or a board to game Good banter, Laughter, jokes and arguments over rules again
Weather in hand a dice, saw, hammer, or the arm of a friend It is for us, without doubt so hard to comprehend
That our mate who was always just there To cheer us, laugh with us or repair an old chair
Has taken his leave and left us to stay, too soon for us all and in such a way
No more adventures for us to measure, and no more dragons hordes full of rich treasure Just memories and stories that will be re told, by friends left behind who slowly grow old.

Thank you Rich, Every time I pass the spot where he died I think of Steve, I'm really glad you found the poem. We've a lot to be thankful for. | |
